Here are some charming photos of the young Royal family. The newest arrival in the family will be taken on a tour of New Zealand and Australia, with his parents. Just before the trip, this family photo, taken from Kensington Palace was released.

Prince George stole the show once again as he and his parents waved goodbye to Australia at the end of their three-week tour Down Under. Dressed in a red cardigan and red and white candy striped shorts, the nine-month-old shook hands with dignitaries and tried to wriggle out of the Duchess of Cambridge's grip as they boarded a flight home.

He shouted out as his parents chatted to Tony Abbott, the Australian Prime Minister, waving his arms and legs and wearing his trademark grumpy face.

He may still be in nappies but Prince George managed to upstage his famous parents during his first official royal tour of Australia and New Zealand

While the Duke and Duchess received a warm welcome everywhere they went, it was often Prince George who captured the public's attention. The young prince was showered with gifts, including a personalised skateboard and a wombat. Even a square in Adelaide was named after him.

Meanwhile, River's uncle Danny has been busy with his diving trips. With trips to Tioman and Krabi, it has been a busy month checking out the underwater world.

Thur 30 Jan

Touchdown at KK airport, in time for family lunch at home. Then it was R&R session in the afternoon, before the feasting began for the reunion dinner.

Movie of the night: Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

Plot summary: Spoilt brat meets social activist heroine who needs rescuing from dangerous situations. Spoilt brat turns into reliable, engaging hero and wins the heart of heroine who tells him her activist role is not finished until she eradicates poverty and hunger. They walk into the sunset knowing this is a long-term plan.

Fri 31 Jan

Since it is family tradition by now, it was time for shopping at Suria in the afternoon. In the evening, we went to see the musical fountain as Beh Ling has not seen this tourist attraction.

Movie of the night: Sense & Sensibility

Plot summary: Dutiful heroine hides her true feelings for Edward whom his mother has declared she will disown if he marries outside of their social class. As our hero is equally dutiful and has recklessly pledged his heart to the headmaster’s daughter during his boarding school years, he is unable to reveal his true feelings for our heroine. After his secret fiancée was revealed, Edward was cut off from the family fortune. Problem is neatly solved when his brother fell in love with Edward’s former fiancée and marries her, freeing Edward to start a new life with our heroine.

Movie of the night: Pride & Prejudice

Plot summary:  The proud and arrogant Mr. Darcy succumbs to the charm of vivacious Elizabeth Bennet. He declares his love for her, and then unromantically informed her that it was despite his better judgement, due to her inferior social standing. Infuriated, she declared she will not marry him even if he was the last man on Earth. Rest assure, there is a happy ending to this classic Jane Austen tale.

Sun 2 Feb

Bikia is not feeling well due to over-active bowel movement. 
We went for an evening walk and short jogging session at the nearby park.

Movie of the night: Monsters University

The take-away from this movie is this - even if you don’t have the natural born talent to be a Scarer to be employed at Monster Inc., you start at the mail room and work your way up. In other words, perseverance pays off.

Mon 3 Feb
Bikia left on the 4 PM flight. 

Tues 4 Feb

After a visit to the EPF office in the morning, we were off to the airport for Beh Ling’s 12 PM flight.

Wed 5 Feb

Visit to the dentist, followed by a haircut. Then it was back to answering work mails even though technically one was on leave. With an evening flight back to KL, the CNY holiday is officially over.

Christmas 2013

Wed 25 Dec

Arrived home on time for Christmas lunch at the Club.

After a short shopping trip to Suria which we didn’t return empty-handed (except for Bikia), we decided to eat in as there were plenty of food at home, inclusive of leftover turkey and ham from the Christmas lunch.

At 9.15 PM, it was time for our Skype session with Austin where River showed us her progress.

Then we watched “Jab We Met” (When We Met), downloaded by Bikia (recommended by yours truly) until 1.30 AM. This was the first Bollywood movie I watched back in 2011 and that was when I discovered Shahid Kapoor (see below).

Thur 26 Dec

We were at the airport for Beh Ling’s flight back to Singapore.

Heavy downpour in the afternoon, so we stayed in until 5 PM. Then it was off to the Club where I did my exercise at the gym while Bikia uploaded some photos. 

Fri 27 Dec

Dad’s internet plan has been upgraded, for a lower price, and we now have wifi at home. In the evening, we headed to the aiport to send Bikia off.

Sat 28 Dec

Update from Bikia in Bangkok: No protesters around the main Sukhumvit Road shopping area. Had lunch at the food court and will be going to Wat Arun Temple tomorrow.

December 2013

Fri 6 Dec

Mum and Dad landed at KLIA after a 9 hours delay at KK airport due to their cancelled flight. As for me, I landed at KLIA at midnight after an hour’s delay departing from Singapore.

Sat 7 Dec

Bikia had lunch with mummy. I went over to Bikia’s condo at 5 PM and we had our chat & woh teih snack before picking up Dad from his meeting venue.

For dinner, we were at Brickfields and decided on having mun fan, ginger chicken, kai lan, steamed egg and coconut water. After that, we headed back for the 9 PM Skype session with Austin 7 AM. It was the River Show for one and a half hours.

Sun 8 Dec

We headed over to Jalan Imbi for bah kut teh breakfast before mum & dad headed to the airport. As for me, it was back to housework and finishing some work.
