Dumpling Dinner

Woke up at 9.30 AM and headed over for short gym visit with Beh Ling before she went out for meetup with friends. Meanwhile I was sorting out which photos should be uploaded for the family blog. We had late lunch as we had snacks at 11 AM.

At 5.45 PM, we started on our first ever CNY dumpling recipe. The recipe is probably not going to be reproducible as we were just making use of available ingredients – minced pork, chick peas, parsley (leftover for pasta recipe), shallots, salt, pepper. The dumplings were cooked in a steamer. 

At 6.45 PM, the first batch of dumplings were ready. We also cooked vegetable soup with 3 types of eggs (century egg, salted egg and chicken egg). For dessert, we had green bean soup.

Dinner 

At 9.55 PM, Beh Ling requested for roti canai supper as she has been craving for this since she arrived. The 3 of us burst out laughing at the suggestion of late night supper. Although feeling lazy at the thought of walking down to get to the mamak place, we did went out. Over supper, we chat about work (late nights, long hours), June visit (for 2nd uncle’s birthday) and Serbia being non-tourist friendly (require visa).

After early lunch, we went out to KLCC to take our CNY family photos. No surprise that lots of other tourists and locals had the same intention of taking photos there as well. This year, we were coordinated in pink and red outfits, with pink and red background. The photos turned out really well.

Went with Beh Ling for a short gym visit before she left for her dinner appointment.

We had 9 AM video chat session with Austin family at 9 AM. Then Beh Ling went for church service at 10.15 AM.

After picking up Beh Ling at 3 PM, we headed over to 1Utama for another family photo shoot at the Secret Garden. 

For dinner, it was me with the slicing and dicing duty for garlic, bacon and parsley while Abikia was cooking the pasta, then draining it and cooking the ingredients for aglio olio and carbonara pasta. The pasta turned out to be less al dente than intended and surprisingly the aglio olio tasted better than the carbonara. Also we shouldn’t have cooked the entire packet of fettuccine because we had too much pasta as compared to the ingredients. We decided to have leftover pasta for tomorrow as we couldn’t finish all of it.

Beh Ling wanted to do some shopping at Nu Sentral so after plate cleaning duty by Beh Ling and floor cleaning duty for me, the 3 of us headed over to Nu to have a look at clothes at Parkson and shoes at Dr Martin shop next to Bata. After that, it was KFC supper back at the condo.

 Visit to Pavillion

Was at Sentral in the late afternoon, chit-chatting with parents and Abikia. After that we were watching Jinnyboy videos at 9 PM. The funniest video award goes to Greatest Salesman and Battle of the Bananas 2. 

Fri 24 Jan 2020

Woke up at 7.15 AM and completed my packing before driving over to Sentral. Arrived just before 9 AM with smooth traffic all the way. Beh Ling arrived at around 10.30 AM. Was watching Secret Superstar and it is definitely worth watching a second time. The scenes are as tear-inducing and emotional as when we first watched it last year.

After lunch and afternoon naps, we left at 6 PM to go to Klang for the Lee family reunion dinner.

In the afternoon we went out for visit to Prince Philip Park (which could do with more refurbishment) and the new State Library at Tanjung Aru where I signed up as member for RM10 and borrowed 2 books - Georgette Heyer and mummy’s book.

Then it was a short visit to nearby supermarket to get water scoop, broom, Vim and longan can fruit. We used to have it as a treat during CNY, sharing two cans of longan and pineapple for dessert for the 6 of us.

We watched a bit of TV before heading out at 11 AM to have photo session at Sutera Harbour before going to the Club for Christmas lunch.

At 2.05 PM, we were at the airport to pick up Beh Ling. Bikia went off at 4 PM for 5 PM flight back to KL.

After my evening jog at the nearby park, we had dinner. Cleaned the floor and had shower before video session started with Austin family at 10 PM.

Fri 1 Feb 2019

Went to the Club gym for close to 1 hour of workout. As there was Pump class at 6 PM, decided to go for this class as well before heading home at 7 PM. After dinner, decided to clean the floor while parents went to fetch Abikia from the airport.

Sat 2 Feb 2019

Sent mummy’s car for car wash while Abikia and Dad went to fetch Beh Ling from the airport. We went to the car showroom after lunch to have a look at the Axia car.

Went with BL for 4 PM gym class which is Abswork, a killer class as the instructor only gave short breaks for his intense workout session. After dinner, we had 9 PM Skype session with Austin. 

Sun 3 Feb 2019

We went for furniture shopping in the afternoon and was caught in bad jam in town. New sofa set will be delivered tomorrow.

At 7 PM, we were on our way to pick up Aunty Su Lee for dinner at E West. Although we had 7 dishes (and seems that we have ordered too many dishes), we managed to finish the food. After that, we took lots of photo at the lobby.

Movie night was Mansfield Park. Nice story with poetic justice at the end. Definitely not the average Hollywood blockbuster action movie. Just a typical Jane Austen movie.

We had late lunch at 1.30 PM after completing errands at the bank and Great Eastern (for the car insurance). 

We had lots to eat for reunion dinner, as well as snack session after dinner. After shower, it was time to watch Secret Superstar. Great movie, everyone should watch it ! Found out the next day that BL had problem going to sleep after watching the movie as it was an emotional and heart-touching movie.

Tues 5 Feb 2019

Woke up slightly after 7 AM as BL wanted to go to the gym. We were back by 9.30 AM for second round of breakfast. After chit-chatting and taking our shower, we were ready to go out at 12 PM for CNY family photo shoot 👪 at Tanjung Aru.

Then we headed over to the Club for lunch.

After lunch, we headed out at 3.30 PM for our usual CNY shopping at Suria. Bought table cloth, shoe rack and two cheong sam sleeveless blouses. We were just in time to take some sunset photos near Suria.

For dinner, we had yee sang

For movie night, it was You Mean the World to Me. The story is set in Penang and 99% in Hokkien (it helps that there is subtitle). The funniest scene is the dancing scene (and requires no translation).

Woke up at 7 AM and did laundry, floor cleaning before going to the gym with BL at 8.45 AM. We then had second round of breakfast before changing the table cloth for 3 cabinets and put the new shoe rack in place. Watched Black Panther, then did my packing before we went to the airport at 4 PM.
