March Birthday Celebration

7th uncle took papa and aunt Didi (4th aunty) out for bah kut teh breakfast and Japanese lunch. They also visited 7th uncle’s house.

Met Beh Ling at Subang Jaya LRT station and we took Grab to Botanic Garden. We were in Klang for aunt Didi’s 70th birthday dinner celebration at Hao Xiang Chi. 

We had 3 private rooms and dinner was sumptuous. The APT song was a crowd favourite at Max’s table but was not Kimberly’s favourite. Chatted with Yi Ling as we were seated together.

After dinner, around 10 PM, we took Grab back to Puchong house. We slept for few hours before waking up at 4.30 AM for Beh Ling’s 5 AM Grab ride to the airport.

CNY Visit

We were at Taman Kinabalu at 12 PM for lunch with the Chen family. It has been many years (during our school days) since our last CNY visit.

We had dim sum lunch with uncle Bala and uncle Chen. The last time the Lee, Chen and Bala families were together must have been when we were kids.

As Beh Ling was not back on time for yesterday’s lunch, we had another teatime gathering at the Club. We celebrated Bikia’s birthday in advance with a Happy Reunion cake (forgot to tell Yuenie to change to happy birthday wording).

We were at the Club for the annual Christmas lunch. We enjoyed the Christmas lunch consisting of sausages, ham, mashed potato, spaghetti and salad. For dessert, it was fruit cake with evaporated milk.

April Visit

It has been many years since we drove over to Taman Kinabalu to visit the Chen family. Ah Yu Di (Yuenie) had contacted me a few days ago and suggested a family gathering which I readily agreed to. As mummy and papa had no objection, we agreed on Sat 20 April 11 AM for the visit.

Went out to Taman Fortuna to buy nasi lemak, curry puff (vegetarian and non-vegetarian version) and herbal eggs for our brunch gathering. The gate was opened when we arrived and we drove in and parked the car. Aunty Linda was the first to hug mummy as she got out of the car. Then uncle Chen also gave her a hug. Both of them looked exactly the same as when we last saw them (probably 15 years ago or more).

Aunty Linda still goes for her weekly Patrick Saloon visit on Sunday morning. I was wearing Beh Ling's blue blouse and like old times, Ah Yu Di is slightly envious as she has no sibling to share clothes with. She is working as a physio therapist and does not have a fixed working hour. Uncle Chen is as kind-hearted and considerate as he was in the past. He once said the 3 of us (mummy, Beh Ling and I) are 3 sisters when we took our CNY photo as their place many years ago.
